  I think it should be more than 40,000.

  It consists of the following,

1. application(including tests): 10,000

2. fee paid for your  undergraduate study: 12,500

3. air ticket: 5,000

4. other fees paid for passport, visa, etc: 2,000

5. money needed for preparing clothes, suitcase
   and othere things: 3,000

At last, you have to bring some dollars with you
to US. You can add them by yourself.
