1.write to the professor who accepts you as graduate student and tell him/her
that you need further several hundreds of dollar to go his/her lab soon. At
the saame time, send him/her a photocopy of the financial statement form from
the admission office. If he/she is really interested in your coming, he/she
surely will offer you additional stipend in RA or TA or sth. else.
2.ast sb. else to present a sponsorship form for you, and in private, you and
the sponsor have an agreement that you do not really use his/her money. That
will work in most situation. keep in mind that the sponsor should hold a relative
high position in his/her respectable professon (e.g. professor, manager, lawyer,
doctor, official clerk, etc.)and this will ensure your visa approvement.
Don't worry, some hundreds of dollar isn't a great problem for anyone in US,
thus you'll be easy to find a pretened sponsor.
