        #1: Make sure to attend the orientation programms, get familiar
with your campus, make some new friends. The people you meet now are going
to be your first friends in USA.

        #2: Get to know your gym and sports activity of your university, be
part of the team. There is Chinese soccor team in every university. Some
American clubs also need new blood. You dont have to be very good to join
the team.

        #3: Help the other people whenever it is possible. They will
appreciate your help. Be sincere, generous and open.

        #4: Talk to all the professors in your field, be academically
active, work hard on your project, be extremly good in your class. Be part
of the activity of your department, go to parties, bring your share of
food,talk to all the people.

        #5: Do not always speak Chinese even when the Americans around you
become uneasy, speak English as much as you can. Enjoy the accompany of
your American fellows, be their friends, listen to their talk. People all
over the world have the same feelings, you will find it is easy to make
American friends.

        #6: Love American food. It is a different taste of life. Learn to
cook Chinese food well, always try to cook something simple because you
will find you usually have no time cooking.

        #7: If you are married, love your wife, be a good hudsband. A good
marriage will make your life much easier. If you are not married,
appreciate the freedom you have and enjoy your life. You will find yourself
a wife, trust me.

        #8: If you can not follow the above 7 tips, that is ok. Everybody
has his own living style. There is more than one way to get things done.
Always enjoy yourself. Dont worry, be happy.
