US is a lovely country only if you are prepared for the possible
hardships, trust yourself and enjoy your life.

If some of you want to transfer to EE or CS:
1. Most important: Try to select more related courses, especially those
   courses instructed by the professors you want to work with.

2. Discuss your selection with old students. Don't choose courses in
   software engineering. They are like Politics courses in China.

3. Contact with professors you like as early as possible and make a
   good preparation before you see him. Normally, he will ask you, "What
   courses have you taken?" and "Why are you interested in my direction?"

4. There are 5 main directions is CS: Theory, Software Engr, AI, Graphics
   and network(distributed system). Of course the last one is the hottest
   fields now. For EE, communication is best, but most of us are lack of
   experience. In california, Graphics or VLSI is also a good choice.

5. If you don't want to be a PhD and just want to find a job after getting
   a master degree, try to learn one of these skills: Visual BASIC, C++
   (Visual C is better), Oracle, Java, HTML. I don't mean to be too
   practical. It's depend on you.

6. And last, bring some software CDs for me.
