I heard of that the books is very expensive in the states.
one american told he has spent $600 or so on books per semester.
It is really a big cost for chinese.
He said the textbook can't be checked out from the libiary.
He pointing a book said: That book is $95. a very thin book.

So be ready to this.

This is simply the truth. I spend about 500$ on my books each semester, average
each is 60$. Well, we are students, it's something we got to do.
In the case the lib has the book, you can check it out, at least true
in our school. But normally lib doesn't have that sort of book, cause
text books are probablly published very recent now we use almost all
books(computer science) published in 1996 and 1997. However, the professor
sometimes will put a couple of books in the library as reserved book,
you cannot check it out but you can borrrow it for 2 hours and
use it in lib. You can save that mooney if you don't mind doing this.

he, I simpley photocopy books if I could borrow from someone iothers since
my research center the photocopier is free.
