                            POSTDOC POSITIONS

               Dr. Terry Caelli, Deputy Director, Center for Mapping,
                                    wants

                           Two Postdoctoral Researchers

       Ph.D.-- Civil and Environmental Engineering/Geodetic Science, Computer
        Science, Electrical Engineering, Math/Stats, or related disciplines.

               Specialization: Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence,
                 Photogrammetry, Pattern Recognition, and/or GIS, etc.

                      Positions to begin February 1, 1998

Research on Computer Vision/Artificial Intelligence applied to
Environmental Sensing through Geographic Information
Systems.

           More specific: Development of techniques for feature extraction,
    interpretation, cartographic processes, and decision support technologies.
