Employment Opportunity at Motorola

        Applied Simulation and Modeling Research (ASMR) Center, one of the
Corporate R&D organizations at Motorola, Inc. is currently having two
immediate R&D positions available at our Motorola Tianjin factory at the
Tianjin Economic technological Development Area.  These positions need to be
filled by March 31, 1998.  These employees, once hired, will report direct
to ASMR, located at Schaumburg, Illinois, USA.  Qualifications of the sought
candidates are as follows.

1.  Ph.D level in the areas of Computational Mechanics, Experimental
Mechanics, and/or Mechanical Engineering (Heat transfer, Dynamics &
Vibration, Acoustics, Statistics & Stochastics, etc.)

2.  Proficient in Finite Element Modeling and Analysis; Familiarity in
commercial finite element software codes (ANSYS, Abaqus, Dyna3D, etc.)

3.  Knowledge in microelectronic and electronic packaging is highly desirable.

4.  Job responsibilities include
* provide cost-effective solutions to solve cellular phone and pager
manufacturing related problems  encountered in Motorola Tianjin factory
* Interface with manufacturing organizations to develop advanced simulation
and modeling  techniques to enhance product reliability and quality, and to
reduce cycle time and manufacturing defects
* Collaborate with other on-site R&D divisions to perform failure mechanism
analysis & nonlinear viscoelastic and viscoplastic material characterization
* Develop experimental approaches and conduct tests to validate modeling results
* Provide periodic training classes in the area of simulation and modeling
techniques
