标  题: 今天签证过程

昨天（6月4号）早和同学从清华南门7：00出发，375──地铁，前门──公安局，
到公安局门口才8：25，等了一会，顺利取得护照。打的到签证处(9:10)，才发现碰到
美国大使馆的签证新规定：从6.1.开始，每周周四只签被据签的，于是和同学领了第二
天的号（92，95）。

今天早上重复了一下昨天的过程 (地铁到建国门再打的)，到使馆签证
处8:20，发现号已经叫到一百，匆匆交了资料，检查后进入签证的屋子里。

屋里人已经很多了，大约到9点来了第一个签证官。随后，陆续又来了三个。最后大概是
因为人多，就又来了一个临时的，不会说中文，旁边有一个女的帮他叫名字。我和同学就
被分到了这一队。

一开始，就有2学生模样的人连续被据，大家一阵紧张。第3个是一个学计算机的，
长时间提问后总算PASS，我同学是第4个（PASS），我是第5个。这位签证官有一个特点，爱
爱问一些专业的问题。以下是我（ME）与他（HE）的谈话：

ME：  Hi, Sir.(在看什么，没理我。于是我拿着排队用的牌子塞进去)
      Do I need to submit the card to you?

HE:   Oh, yes, thank you.
      **********?
ME:   Sorry, I can't hear your words clearly.
HE:   (靠近话筒) 你到美国学什么？（很怪的腔调，所以开始没懂！）
ME:   Chemical Engineering....The same department as in my undergraduate school*.
HE:    Your undergraduate school?
ME:    Yes. I am an undergraduate now, and I will soon graduate.
HE:    (看I20, murmuring) Oh, good.
       (then look at me) **********.?
ME:    (又没听懂)Would you please ..explain it ..more specificly?
HE:    (thought for a while) .. you............uranium?
ME:   （心里一惊）Sorry, that's not my concentration.
        My concentration is membrane separation.
HE:     What's your concentration?
ME:     My concentration is membrane separation.
HE:    (想不起来了，大概是让我解释一下)
ME:     My diploma thesis work is concentrating on membrane separation, pervaporation.
HE:     Pervaporation of what?
ME:     Benzene. I need to dehydrating, to dehydrate benzene ,
        water concentration ,from several
         hundred ppm to 10 ppm.
HE:     What's ppm?
ME:     Water concentration.
HE:     (想不起来了, 大概是问数学意义)
ME:     (张嘴说不出)
HE：   (Soon) part per...
ME:     Yes, part per million.
HE:     million. (转头和旁边的签证官说了些什么，然后总算低头开始写了，边写边问)
         Your membrane,  bio....membrane
ME:     No, polymer, ****(术语)membrane, (见他不理我，就又开始说) *..
HE:      用手指了一下window 6
ME:      Thank you.

后来问了一下同学发现她的问题也不好答：
1· 有机化学和无机化学的区别？
2· 怎样做肥皂？
听见他还问了碳的分子量，以及什么叫DOS.

我看签证的问题不好准备，放松应答很重要。
