bigh: 清华EE本科生,录取至大名鼎鼎之UCLA. 得一"半奖"(I-20说明自己要
      提供2800$财政证明). 公元1998年6月19日鏖战美国使馆签证处,下面
      是战报综述.

6.19

凌晨1:30 看完南非-丹麦的比赛,蒙头大睡. 南非队员的表现极大鼓舞了bigh
         的士气.
早晨7:00 闹钟响,关闹钟,转身又睡.
7:10     惊醒,离开充满诱惑力的bed. 洗脸,刷牙. 对镜顾影自怜一番.
7:30     骑车至南门,豪情大发,立志骑至城内.
8:35     经西直门-复兴门-西单-天安门-东交民巷
8:45     取passport,交100元手续费.
9:00     经正义路-王府井-东单-建国门-赛特,转北,杀入秀水街.
9:05     在1号窗口取468号,"事溜发"也.也可认作"死了巴". 这时巧遇同系
         之大酷哥wuxz. 该酷哥曾有TSE60分之骄人战绩,bigh佩服得紧.
         wuxz取480号:"事发了" = "死巴你". 两人遂坐路边等候. 见另一同
         学李某与一清华女生正排队进入使馆,原来他们是昨天领的号. 愿毛
         主席他老人家保佑他们.
10:30左右正要昏昏欲睡,猛然间眼前一亮,只见本系的qianqian走出使馆.
qianqian可真是电子系的大牛人,不知用何等之骗术得到CalTech的全奖,令同去
洛城的兄弟我仰慕不已. 看见qianqian如八,九点钟太阳般灿烂的笑容,一定是春
风得意马蹄疾了. wuxz大呼其名,无耐qianqian被众人众星捧月般团团包围,足足
有7,8层之多,令我辈不敢上前. 一刻钟之后人潮方退. 到底是去CalTech的酷姐,
签证官的两个问题都没听懂也没回答,只出示了transcript就pass了. 吾与wuxz
遂强邀qianqian请客.
11:30    三人去McDonalds吃饭,路经秀水市场时见一中年妇女神秘地对我问道
         'Want music CD?' 我正诧异,原来把我当成老外了. 顿时信心倍增.
12:30    吃完饭,wuxz填F156. 出麦当劳,qianqian凯旋回校. 与wuxz回使馆.
         见实验班同窗brucesu. 他7点领的310号,1点进使馆.
13:10    brucesu进使馆,吾与wuxz望穿秋水般等待. 中观赏一精彩斗殴事件,精
         神大振.
14:50    与wuxz同进使馆,取褐色牌. 看见使馆墙上自由女神招贴画,一阵翻胃.

     ...... 漫长的等待 ......

16:20   我们被引至5号窗口,是台湾魔女.这时等候签证的人只剩下不到20人了.
        台湾MM果然利害,一连拒了数个探亲和商务的. 一哥们特乐,号称是柬埔
        寨提供他赴美费用. MM满脸堆笑地据了他. 其实个人窃以为,台湾MM笑起
        来还是满可爱的,当然笑里是有刀子的,看你够不够硬了! 我前一F1也被据,
        那女孩怯生生的问她下次如何才能签过.
16:30   4号的白人叫wuxz的名字,原来这时已没几个人了,4号代台湾MM签.wuxz与
        那帅哥侃了一通. 便轮到我了. 以下是我们的对话.

No.4(面无表情地):Please show me your GRE transcript.
I give him the score.
No.4 looked at my score: Good score, congradulations!
Bigh: Thank you.
No.4:(point to my I-20) Please show my your bank document.
I pass him the document.
No.4: Who will offer you the money?
Bigh: My parents.
No.4: OK. Give me 3 reasons why you eill come back to China.
没想到他会这么问,我还没说我PH.D 后要回国呐!
Bigh: Reason No.1, I am studying Electronics Engineering, it is very
      promising in China. With the developing of Chinese economics,
      there will be a big market in China and there are lots of money
      and chance here. I will come back and do take up my duty in China.

      Reason No.2, to speak the truth, the most challenging thing for me
      to do is to develop China, to change China. China is my motherland,
      I am belonging to her and she is belonging to me. Everything I do,
      I do it for China. I love my country!
No.4(began to smile): So reason No.3?
Bigh: I think that's enough. To love sth. should have no reason. I love
      China and my parents and my friends are all in China, I will miss
      them, I will come back!
No.4: So could you tell me why only 7%(I cannot remember the number
      clear) Chinese students come back after they finish their study
      in U.S.?
Bigh: I don't know. Maybe they dare not to face the challenge and take
      up their duties. I just stand for myself. I needn't to take the
      responsibility for what other Chinese have done. You should not
      judge me by other's actions.
No.4: Very good boy, I hope you will come back and work for China. Go to
      window 6 please.
Bigh: Thank you.

走出使馆,长长出了口气. 骑车回程. 经长安街,过天安门. 毛主席微笑地注视者
我, 看着日落下的紫禁城,看着无际的长安街,心中怅然.

晚安,北京.

再见,我深深爱着的伟大的中国!
