Hi, friends,

I just got the visa from the US embassy. And I have some info and 心得 to share with you. Hope we all are lucky!

1. We must make 预约first. The telephone No. can be got from the BBS (one of them is 65325305).
for 预约，there are 3 questions:
a. 是否第一次申请？
b. Name?
c. 护照号码？

then they will tell you when to go for the visa application and what is your number of the sequence of that day.

2. 形式很好，许多F-1都签过了，F-2 具我所知都过了。所以不要着急。听说六月份以后开了学生窗口后，不用面谈即可获得Visa.

3. window 10 will be the gate for visa. ( not the original window 6).

以下是我的签证过程：

The officer is an American, 面善, a very kind and friendly person。

M(Me): Good morning, here are my materials.
送上 admission letter, transcripts, T.G.

没要毕业，学位证书。
officer see the transcripts.

O(Officer): You got MS in Tsinghua?
M: yes.
O: Wh*** *** ****? ( I did not hear the question)
Me: Pardon?
O: Wh*** *** ****? ( I do not hear clear the question again :( )
Me: sorry, could you ..... (he did not see me, so I am afraid, then not say the last half of the sentence "repeat it again?")

也许问题不重要，so he did not ask again. He looked at T. G. and admission letter.

O: Why do you want to study this major?
Me: Because ..................... . ( just what is in your statement.)

Then the Officer began writing things on the OF-156. And give me the 黄条。
M: thanks.


So, it is not difficult. Just:
1. not nervous,
2. not say too much. Wait for the officer to ask you.
3. Try to hear clearly. but if not, not be afraid.
